Liverpool Ready to Raise Yan Diomande Bid Toward €100m as RB Leipzig Stand Firm
Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to sign RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande and are now prepared to present a package approaching €100million for the Ivory Coast international.
The latest position represents an increase from an earlier proposal discussed between the Premier League club and their Bundesliga counterparts, highlighting Liverpool’s growing determination to secure the 19-year-old attacker.

Liverpool Hold Advantage Over PSG
Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in signing Diomande, but the French champions have not yet submitted an offer to RB Leipzig. They are currently waiting for the player to decide his preferred destination.
According to sources speaking anonymously to protect relationships, Liverpool are also ahead of PSG when it comes to the personal terms being offered to the young forward.
As a result, Liverpool are currently viewed as the frontrunners in the race for Diomande, although the club continues to assess alternative targets should a move prove impossible to complete.
Alternative Targets Under Consideration
Among the players Liverpool are monitoring are Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yankuba Minteh, FC Koln’s Said El Mala and Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo.
The Athletic also reported on Wednesday that Liverpool had agreed a deal to sign Spain international winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna.
RB Leipzig Determined to Keep Diomande
Despite Liverpool’s interest, RB Leipzig have no intention of letting Diomande leave easily. The German club would prefer to extend his current contract and the expectation is that any offer would need to exceed €130million to alter their position.
Diomande enjoyed an impressive Bundesliga campaign, missing only one league match due to an international call-up. Across 33 appearances, he scored 12 goals and contributed nine assists as Leipzig finished third and secured qualification for the Champions League.
World Cup Impact Continues to Grow
The forward is part of Ivory Coast’s World Cup squad this summer and started his country’s opening match of the tournament against Ecuador on Sunday.
His World Cup debut proved highly impressive as Ivory Coast recorded a 1-0 victory. Diomande emerged as the standout performer on the pitch, causing problems across both flanks while consistently creating danger in attack.
Just 18 months ago, he was playing for DME Sports Academy in Florida. Even a year ago, he remained relatively unknown despite RB Leipzig investing €20m to sign him after only 500 minutes of football for Spanish side Leganes during the latter stages of the 2024-25 season.
Diomande has quickly adapted to the spotlight. His direct dribbling style, energy and confidence have become defining features of his game. Against Ecuador, he registered more touches, attempted more take-ons and created more chances than any of his Ivory Coast team-mates, underlining his influence on every attacking move.
